From Asheville to Orlando, I drove 70 the entire way. I averaged 18.6 mpg. Overall trip was right at 17.

Wow, I just did a 500+ mile round trip this weekend. 75-77mph and got 18.7MPG (18.8mpg on the return leg). Temps were above freezing and no noticeable headwinds, but it is a hilly drive. Very impressed with my fuel economy on this trip given "winter gas" but unsure why I haven't got this low in a long time. Also rolling on the 17" Michelin X-Ice Xi2s. I started to wonder if tire diameter impacts fuel economy?
I did half of this drive 2 weeks ago and was under 16mpg and worse and still had the OEM 20's on. Slightly colder temps. Kept it at 75mph max the whole drive. I guess wind varies fuel economy more than I thought. I always just assumed it was the hills and partially the wind.

15mpg with 870 miles. 90% city driving.

18mpg city so far. Installed AFE CAI as soon as I got it. No highway driving so far.

about 1900 miles in and I am at an average of 21.29 miles with a low of 19.92 and high of 23.56. Its mostly in the city but I always drive off peak hours because of my work shift. Mine is all stock for now, so not sure how the mods will affect it.

How in the ........ Do you keep the throttle below 1500 RPM (in the eco zone)?
How is that possible? I have almost 1100 and the computer still says 12.8 mpg... going for a long drive tomorrow so hopefully that will improve sigh.... :violin::noidea:

don't get fooled, 20+ MPG is impossible in -real- city driving. He must be driving some kind of a suburban area, with lots of 40-50MPH stretches with sparse stoplights.

Flat suburban/ex-urban Phoenix like [MENTION=84331]diverscale[/MENTION] suggests. 20mpg is possible on the highway at 75mph but you need flat roads and no noticeable headwinds. Stop and go city is more like 17max on a GOOD day. I average about 17.5 in the warmer months in my day-to-day commute. "Suburban" with a few hills and some traffic lights with usually 3 stop-and-go's over the 5 miles each way.

My driving is 70% highway but still I am getting 17.1 to 17.7 avg per tank of gas in my 2014 TRD w/31k miles. I'm figuring these numbers the old fashioned way. The onboard computer always shows higher mpg, just like it does on my solara.
Are you guys manually figuring your averages or relying on the onboard computers calculations?

I am 960 miles in to the 2015 TRD and I am getting about 18 mpg with mixed. Pretty much on par with my 2004 SR5 before.
My commute includes Washington DC where 7 miles takes 45 minutes to get through on a good day. The other 23 miles home can go as quick as 20 minutes.:lookout:
I calculate mileage after a fill up so there is room for error but I have noticed that the mileage display from the car trip computer is usually lower.
The trip computer can be reset by holding the "DISP" button on the steering wheel to start a new average calculation. If you reset it while driving on the highway it will start a new "average" from the higher mileage. Likewise resetting while in traffic will start a new "average" from the lower, stop-and-go mileage.

If you do a little more reading on this thread you will see folks are posting both ways.
Like I've said before, IMO the computer is more accurate than my manually calculated due to over/underfills.

I use manual calculations. I always have the gas nozzle positioned the same way when fueling and always stop fueling as soon as the auto-off stops the fuel.
The computer can be fairly accurate. I find in unfavourable/windy conditons the stated consumption is more generous than actual calculated figures. Otherwise the computer is pretty accurate.

[MENTION=84331]diverscale[/MENTION] : If you are saying phoenix isn't a real city, on a per population basis, it is the 6th largest in America, on land area, it is the 5th (purely phoenix metro, not any suburb). It is a well planned one at that. Either way, I was merely adding to the discussion of what is possible; real city or not.
Edit: I also use the fill-up app on android to track my consumption and mileage, and it syncs pretty well with the onboard monitor. Like someone mentioned, it is flat, dry and has no real bad winds (except for the odd haboob now and then)
