Really quick JBL Sub question

So I did a lot of searching on this forum and various other ones but I can't find a definitive answer. My JBL sub in my '03 Limited is blown. I am replacing it with a Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 DVC 2Ohm sub. I am keeping the stock amp cause I don't need to push it crazy hard.

My question is about wiring. I know there are four wires (2 Pos, 2 Neg) coming from the stock amp. There are 4 terminals on the new sub (2 Pos, 2 Neg). Do I simply snip the old connectors, strip the wire a bit, and put them in the new sub terminals? I have seen some talk of wiring in parallel and series and other things, but I don't fully understand it all. Do I just snip and match the pairs? Or do I have to do any other special wiring? Thanks!

So what does that exactly mean? Just attach the positives to the positives and negatives to the negatives?

That would be correct. Keep in mind that this will present a 1 Ohm load to the amp. Make sure it will handle that or you will quickly be replacing that amp. Unless it is a 2 channel amp, then it will see a 2 Ohm load per channel in unbridged mode. (I don't not know how many channels it is)

If you were installing a Mono or 2 channel bridged amp you would hook the positive lead to a positive terminal on the sub, then jump that to the other positive terminal. Same with negative.

None of those RF wiring diagrams match the stock JBL amp configuration.

The stock JBL amp dedicates 2 separate amp channels to the dual voice coil subwoofer. In essence, each coil of the subwoofer is a separate speaker.

So, you want to connect each matched pair of +/- from the JBL driver to a set of matched posts on the RF driver. Do not connect the RF's matched pairs to each other. If you mix-n-match the +/- from either channel, you'll likely destroy the JBL amp since you would be feeding high level input voltage into devices only intended to be outputs.
