Rear backup sensors

Wow forgot all about this post. They work great but can give false positives on some road surfaces.

Take your time measuring and use the included hole saw.

I tapped into the backup light for the backup sensors. I didn't use the turn signal lights. CPU is mounted behind the tool kit.

It had cheesy signal lights. I removed them after a few days.

I replaced them with LEDs I put in the mirrors.

The display fit just right on the dash.

The sensors look like factory ones.

TK-422, love the mod. I've wanted to add this to my SR5 (fake TRDP) since I bought it. I can't find anything approximating this kit in today's offerings on Alibaba unfortunately.

Also love the name. I have an Imperial Scout droid on the back of my white 4Runner and every now and again I see someone in traffic recognize they are looking at Hoth back there. I have a deep cut in my license plate as well...

It’s mindboggling to me that in 2020, these aren’t even an option on 4runners generally. My TRDP was north of $50k and I couldn’t get PDC, memory seats, folding mirrors, blind spot monitoring, decent headlights, or auto climate control.

The PDC not being available is just laughable. Those systems have been in cars for almost 2 decades, maybe longer in some cars.

I thought there was auto climate. I guess it’s just dual temp and pick your fan speed on the pro’s?

There is. I meant to edit the post not long after I posted it, but got hung up until now.

It does have an auto button on the left knob.
