Im thinking of buying a rear bumper with the rear tire carrier. I know the big brands like CBI but I am not paying $2700 for a rear bumper all said and done. I know a bunch of you guys are builing your own but I dont have the time or place or tools I would need to make it. So I was wobndering what are some of the other shops that are making rear swing aways for the 4th gens?

blight1234, There are only two companies, besides CBI that I know of that make rear bumper/tire carriers: "TACTICAL ARMOR GROUP" and "RELENTLESS FABRICATION" (although Relentless will not ship: local pick up only in Sparks, NV). The CBI, while expensive, is the LEAST OBNOXIOUS looking of all three bumper/tire carriers. At first I took a hard look at the CBI, but after seeing how heavy and bulky it is (as well as the extremely high price), I opted against the whole idea. In the end, it's just not worth the money or the trouble, IMHO.

Remember, you get what you pay for.

My brother has CBI front and rear of his truck, with the swing out.

Awesome bumpers. Build quality is second to none. And these things take a beating and DON'T move.

No tweaking of the mounting points or anything.

Give 4xinnovations a call, with my bumper, tire carrier, and sliders shipped to my front door I was in $1100, if you don't see something tha fits your truck call and ask if they can make something custom.

4x4 labs also sells a weld together kit.

There was talk on 120 of demello producing a crozhawk style one. But it isn't happening.

I am in the same boat. 2700 is absurd. Taco guy I know has brute force or elite (i forget) was 1300 with double swing outs, shipped. 2700 dollars is a downpayment on a 5th gen :D

Now, see, had Demello actually done the Crozhawk bumper/tire carrier, I would have GLADLY slapped down $2k to get one. That was a VERY streamlined, cool looking bumper.. Crozhawk completely missed his calling. He is a design genius!

I know you want a swing out and people have mentioned CBI. I have a CBI rear bumper but opted not to go with a swing out. I'm fine with having the spare tire in its factory location underneath. The quality of their work is high. Like what has been said, you get what you pay for. I'm not in any way saying that these other companies are inferior to CBI. Just do a lot of research before buying. These things aren't cheap.

I live in Atlanta and Tactical Armor Group sucks!!! My buddy got his FJ62 rear bumper from them and it looked like shit. Then i heard of another guy getting a rear bumper from them and TAG had to have another toyota shop fix all their work after TAG said it was done and good to go. Im not risking that with my truck. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!

Thanks for all the input im gonna keep looking around. I will check out 4xinovations.

Hey, relax. I certainly was not suggesting purchasing a bumper from them. It's an ugly-as-sin bumper anyway. I was only stating that they are one of a few that fabricate them for the 4th gen. sheesh.

Brian,

Definitely stay away from TAG. haha If all else fails, give ACC a shout and see what they would charge to make one. The bumper on Dan's GX looks nice!
