Rear cargo cover - stock equipment?

Strange question probably. I haven't posted here much lately. Bought a used 3rd gen a few weeks ago, for my daughter, and have been living down in that forum ever since.

Anyway, the wife and I took our annual day off Holiday shopping trip yesterday and wanted to hide our loot in the back of the 5th gen. I went to find and pull the cargo cover across and realized there is not one there. And, for the life of us, neither of us can remember if there ever was one there. We took a road trip this summer, and I'm thinking maybe I took it out when packing up the luggage in the cargo area. If I did, I have no idea where I may have put it.

Should ours have come with one? We have the optional sliding cargo tray in the back but no 3rd row option. It's a well optioned SR5 but I'm wondering if the cover is standard equipment anyway or if it's optional.

I can tell you it's not standard equipment. Some people have had them thrown in with the deal, or they were added by the dealer. They are not standard from Toyota, not even on the Limited series. I would suggest you check your window sticker (if you kept it) to see if it was included.

I kept it, but with all the presents and wrapping paper that are strewn about right now in the area that we keep our files, it'll be hard to get to for a bit.

Thanks for answering, though. At least I know I didn't necessarily have one to start with. Must just be getting old. Strange for 2 of us to not remember something like that on a vehicle we've only owned 8 months.

Not only did you pay extra for it, once you find it you will find you will probably not like it. It does not cover the back area worth a crap and it generally get's in the way of anything you are trying to place in or out of the cargo area.

It is NOT std equipment.....listed under optional accessories (like your cross bars & wheel locks). Mine came with one (along with the wheel locks), been sitting the the basement for the past 2 years. I am sure I will find a use for it now and then.

I've been looking to get a cover for a while now... but if they're garbage I don't know. Any other opinions on the cargo cover?

I disagree! They cover the entire cargo area just fine and do as intended which is to hide from view items in the cargo area from being seen through the window, out of sight out of mind. There is a space of about 4" or so between the rear seat and cover but that is because the rear seats recline. I felt it was defiantly worth the price.
