**Rear Coil Spring Discussion - The Perfect 3rd Gen Rear Spring**

If I put 40 liters of bottled water and 5 bags of groceries in the back, along with all the other stuff, it drops another 1/2". I believe the LC 7.5 wraps are 180lbs/in spring rate. I installed the stock upper coil isolator, with the center cone cut off, on the driver's side. My truck sits dead level from left to right in both the front and the rear.

If you loosen the mounting nut at the axle for the upper links and the frame side mounting nut for the lower links, while supporting the axle with a floor jack, you can lower the axle enough to easily install the springs. Disconnect the shocks from the axle and the sway bar end links of course. It's super easy if you do it that way. Remember to re-torque all the mounting hardware for the links at ride height!

Do you have the new Superflex coils? I have the 024RCB model that was discontinued, and I'm amazed at how well they hold the weight. I've had them on for two years now, and I crossed the scales at 5620lbs, full trail weight, driver, and full tank of gas.

This is how it sits at that weight on the trip. Tires are 235/85-16s. Front is probably a little low, it's just the stock 600lbs Icon springs at stock 3" lift (unloaded), but I have a bumper, winch, full skids, and dual batteries up front. Unfortunately I didn't take any measurements.

Thanks for posting this pic with 235/85s. Been looking for a good picture of them on a 4runner. How do they run on-road, off-road?

Alright, we'll see! Just put in an order. I figure if it sits a hair too low it's nothing trim packers can't fix, or worst case scenario sell them on the classifieds and get the next size up. I'm only carrying maybe 200lbs max altogether, so probably a tad more than you but not anything crazy like the 500+ some users carry

How are these LC 7.5 springs working out for you? I used to have the 210V springs on mine but switched to OME 890 springs because 210V was too high for the weight I had at the time. Now I have more weight but still not sure if the 210V springs will be too high. Maybe I just need to buy a few different springs and try them all out first haha.

I like them a lot, they settled perfectly and ride just the same if not a tad better than the 210v coils. Right now I have maybe half an inch of rake and it looks miles better than the 1.5-2in before. They're also much easier to compress and install/remove since the coil is slightly thinner, it was always a total pain to get the compressors in them and squish them down enough to pop them out
If you're one of the people who has a half inch lean in the rear then it would be smart to use one 8 wrap and one 7.5 wrap to even it out (about a 0.4 inch difference between the two), but for some reason I only have a 1/4 inch lean so I just use trim packers and it worked out perfectly
It would also be smart to get a close ballpark of how much weight you're carrying in the rear. I'm probably around 260lbs: my bumper is 150lbs, plus a 65lb spare tire/wheel, 25lb hi-lift and a small amount of tools and recovery equipment. Tbh I try not to think about all my extra weight and how much it's probably slowing me down lol but if I had to give an estimate for reference it's probably around there eep:

I have the same weight on the rear right now plus a 100lb roof top tent. When I go camping I probably throw in around 200lbs of extra gear. Maybe the 210v would be good for me then.

So I've bought Eibach Pro-Truck Shocks and OME 890 for the rear so far. I was planning to run OME 881 in the front, but problem is they are on back order for who knows how long...

What would be comparable? The Eibach 2.5" ? (E30-82-006-05-20) lift springs?

I realize this is a bit of an odd arrangement of Eibach/ome lol. Originally, I chose the Eibach shocks over 5100s on the premise that they might be valved somewhat softer. Then I chose the OME springs over Eibachs because the rears need spacers to match the front height which I thought was dumb

Well I just put in my 210v's after outboarding the rear shocks (had 891's before). Jesus, it's like a 5"+ rake! FFS! I have a eimkeiths bumper, spare inside and a full f150 fuel tank and it still sits that high. Though I'll be adding a swingout shortly, 3 gas cans, water and a drawer and sleeping platform soon too. But I still don't think it will drop the height that much.

So I don't quite know what spring to run yet again. Either a 891 again (it saged about 2 inches or more), the lc 7.5 wrap 48131-6A570, maybe a 906 or 890?man I wish there were more springs to choose from.

Lotsa folks recommend and run the OME 861s with setups like yours. Landcruiser springs.

I run the 861's on my rig and I love them. I've got LC80 Tokico shocks in the rear to pair with them and I think it's an excellent setup. I'll attach a picture for reference. This was immediately after install. Like I finished it up and took this picture.

My 861's replaced my old and worn LC80 springs. They served their purpose and I still have them in my closet, I just wanted something new.

Thanks, just got the 861's on Saturday. I too ran some lc80 kyb shocks, but finally did the outboarding and 10" shocks.

I'm off tomorrow so I'll toss them in. I have a substantial amount of permanent weight in the back of the 4r. So I hope it levels out with a slight rake. I also got a set of new lc80 springs, 48131-6A570, to also see what that does. I might measure out for rear limit straps when I'm off too, if I have time.

The p/n you listed is the same exact one for the LC80 springs I had. I ran them for a little more than 100K miles if memory serves me correctly. They were fine but towards the end they were bouncy and I didn't like that. I think the 861's are nice and stiff and give that solid feeling, at least to me they do. That's why I enjoy them so much.

I emailed ASC and asked them about the specs for the 4 sets of rear springs they make. Opt Offroad carries that brand, so it may be worth a shot to ask them as well.

I have a stock 98 on 265/70/16. I have a big dometic fridge, 15-20 gallons of gas/water. A 100lbs steel rear hitch carrier. Stock bumpers and no skids. Planning on welding on my own sliders. And adding a hidden wench.

What should I put in the rear end? It’s too saggy now. I’m looking for a 2” lift with 400-500 lbs with no sag.

I ran ome 891's and lc80 kyb gas-a-just shocks and rode fantastic, it does give you a lift so pair it with what ever in the front. I ran that for 3-4 years.

Currently I have around 300-320lbs constant, rear bumper, f150 tank swap w/skid, spare inside.

890 listed as 3" lift 4-500# extra will put you between 2-3".
