Rear Control Arm Channel Support

Friend of mine who owns Sherpa Offroad helped me weld in some channel cut supports to my rear control arms yesterday. He had done the same to his LC and suggested it prior to going out to Moab next week for Cruise Moab. Easy mod and should provide some protection. Used 1/8" X 1" X 3 ' pieces of angle iron cut to size of control arm and welded in place.

Typo on the measurement of the steel. We used 1x1x1/8 angle iron. Next up, if we have time, we plan to build up supports on the control arm hangers: This is what we have done on a few other trucks and allows the hangers to take a beating.

Any more pics/details on this? Was it just welding the two pieces of angle iron together at 90* then welding them to the original LCA?

I found an extra set of LCA's so I am thinking about doing this to them.

Thanks in advance!

doing a little CPR on an old thread. any updates from CFAIRBANK on the weld jobs and how they have held up?

Sorry for the hiatus. The RCA supports have held up well. Had a trip back in april to MOAB and had no issues. Easy mod and think it is well worth it.
