Rear Differential Leak 1

1989 Toyota Pickup DLX , 1 ton , 2.4 L , 4WD

We have a slow leak from the Rear Differential
housing. Appears to be leaking from the circular
outer Weld seams.
Not really sure of where the actual Leak is coming from.

As anyone seen or heard of a similar situation ?

The where? Are you talking about the backside of the diff, as viewed from the rear of the truck? That's possible, especially if it's rusting through. Get some brush and a degreaser, clean it up real well and see where it's really leaking from and then we can talk about how to fix it.

Kevin's exactly right! Make sure it is completely degreased, let it sit until you see exactly where it starts seeping through and you'll find your problem area.

If you can't see where its coming from, baby powder and a soft rag works wonders!

Dare I say it, rub it in powder and find the wet spot!!! :naughty:
