Rear differential leaking housing leaking?

Is this a common issue? I've noticed that it seems to be leaking. Dripping some now. I haven't been off road really, so IDK what caused this to happen.

Is it an "easy" fix, or do I need to pay someone to fix this?

Where is it leaking from? If you can't tell for sure, scrub it off with some brake cleaner or old gas.

Common culprits are the diff gasket or the pinion seal.

looks like its coming from the pinion seal.

clean it off really good and drive it a few days, then check it again. see where its coming from.

My bets on pinion seal too. $15 tops from a quality parts store can can change it in a hour or two. Good time to change your diff fluid too.
