rear-end difference

All right I have an 06 v6 2wd and the rear end is starting to howl. Now I know it needs a new third member and I have found one. My questions are should I rebuild this on that I have in my truck? I found a company in NC called east coast gear supply and they will do it for 700 bucks or should I buy this third member I found for 350 bucks (3.73 gear) but it is out of an 03 v8 4 runner and will this used one fit my truck? My last question is how reliable are these rear-ends? i know its a lot but when it comes to rear-ends I'am at a loss..

Go with the ECGS with the shimmed pinion bearing instead of the stock crush sleeve.

This seems to be a pretty common issue, so I went through it myself. I rebuilt a used diff, but I wish I had just gone through ECGS if I could do it again.
