I'd appreciate some help with my 4runner rear gate issue. I've read many similar reports in this forum, but mine looks different(me think).
If I press the rear gate latch switch, there's no response at all, no motor noise, nothing. If I manually open the rear gate by push/pull the two levers from the inside and then close the rear gate, the motor will run and lock it. But after that it won't response to the switch anymore.
Strange thing is, if I disconnect the battery for 5 min and then connect back, the rear gate will open with motor running when press the switch, BUT for only one time! After that, no response anymore. This is driving me crazy. The lock has no rust on it, it's also not stuck. Has anyone seen similar issues? Thanks.
