Hey Folks,
The lock on my rear hatch has been working fine until yesterday. I replaced the rear actuator for the window because of a leak that caused the mounts that hold the window to rust. That whole process went smoothly, but during that process I had to disconnect a bunch of the wiring in the hatch for the various components.
Well putting everything together, I noticed that the button/handle to open the hatch is no longer working, either that or the actual lock itself stopped working. If I insert the key into the rear door, the window will work and it will unlock the vehicle itself. But I can't open the door from outside, I have to manually release it on the inside of the hatch. I can't hear the motor pulling the door shut anymore. I've checked all the wiring and everything looks good as far as I can tell so I'm not sure what the issue would be at this point. I'm not really electrically inclined, so I don't think I would know how to troubleshoot the wiring but I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions before I took it to a mechanic. Everything works fine on the rear door, except for the lock.
