Rear hatch pictures

A while ago I accidentally backed out of my garage with the tailgate open. I just got it back from the repair shop now and the tailgate opens very rough. When the button is pushed it's almost like a *clunk*. Can someone send me a video and/or pictures of the top of the hatch from the side to show distance from the body?

Photo of what I'm talking about, does this look aligned? Am I overreacting?

That looks pretty aligned to me. You probably just need to adjust where the door latches. Move the hook slightly out and it won't give you that clunk anymore.

No it's off some. The gap is ok but I think it a bit high. No pix but my tailgate sits a little lower than the roof.

Yea. You are not going to be able to determine that by a photo. It takes the width of a hair to matter. When I am out, wheeling, and I am parked at an angle.. that makes my back a little clunky to close. It is a very tight fit.

Take it back to the repair shop and tell them to get it right. You paid for a repair and you want it repaired.

Don't waste your time trying to fix it yourself. You will just drive yourself crazy. You paid "professionals" who claim they can fix body damage and as a result charge you for it. Get what you paid for.

I don't think you can tell from a photo either. I took one for you anyways, but I'll tell you when I took a picture of the other side (I'm parked at a slant) that it looked all jacked up. And my hatch closes just fine.

How do you do this? Will it move slightly after loosening the bolts with the torx?

That does look pretty different from mine. Mine is noticeably above the rest of the truck.

I took pictures of the other side. Guess it wasn't as bad as I thought. But you can see even how the gap looks wider on the one side just from the angle I took it at.
