Rear Mount Turbo exhaust

U should check your "facts" first.

Let me rephrase that, I've seen a corvette with twin exhaust turbo and supercharged runnin over 700 horse power. (There were more mods though)
And there is a Volkswagen golf GT European release that had both.
And tbh that was a kinda rude way to phrase that.

I don't know much about Corvettes, but thought supercharging was the only form of boost they got? In the ZR1, right?

I think the only stock way was supercharging, but to get more performance out of them turbo is the best addition. Checking the info now.
1987-1991 callaway twin turbo vettes were manufactured.

In the link you posted, the Corvette is twin turbo'd... no supercharger.

Yes, you can supercharge and turbocharge. It's not common, but it can certainly be done. Hell, you can supercharge, turbocharge, and spray nitrous.
The ZR1 is the only Corvette to be supercharged, with 638hp. The ZL1 Camaro is also supercharged.

A lot of turbo guys use nitrous as a method to help spool a large turbo in race applications. In small shots, it's also a very effective way to cool an intake charge in high boost applications.

Thanks for bringing pictures, difficult todo on my phone.
And I noticed your location, not too far from my condo :p we should get together sometime, inbox me if you'd like to get together this summer.

I dont know whats so surprising to everyone. Its a simple efficient setup that is so brains free simple it boggles my mind.

no tuning, no added fuel upgrade bs, no gauges needed other than a turbo timer. I love it, and its on my list for sure this summer. I can mount everything and do this in a day if I plan correctly, leaving all welding for last once oil pump and turbo timer are on. Love it, and an extra 70hp will definately help

Man there is so much misinformation in here on turbos, boost, afr's, detonation, supercharging its rediculous. I have been tuning turbo cars for many years up too 40psi, supercharged, meth injected, nitrous injection, water injection, e85. Just remember you can do all of it on the same motor, usually people do it for fun more than for efficiency. You guys just make me laugh with your arguments. Its usually not safe at all to run 4psi or more on any stock motor unless the ecu can compensate for the boost which is not normal.

Too the OP what afr do you hit at WOT? What timing numbers are you seeing, I didnt wee where that info was being posted. Im sure you have a wbo2 at least.

I'm not running a wide band. No need to. A little company called TRD did all the homework for me. 7psi stock engine and computer. Thanks for the concern though:D

It would be nice if you could possibly provide information on what needs to be done to compensate for the additional boosting.
Through a pm to me would be nice, would like to have help putting everything together the first time instead of putting something then going "oh crap I need that too?"

are you asking me out?
No no o.o asking if you might wanna wheel together.

I would feel safer having the timing tables and AFR adjusted, but if these guys as well as ones with the SC haven't had any issues then who's to say you need it with this application

I am still interested in doing this...PM info about the turbo pipe you make with a price when you can .

I guess you're not aware that these motors come with a roots blower option, with no fuelin or ECU modifications?

For the record, nobody is saying that supercharging and turbocharging can't be done. For what these motors are used for, it wouldn't be practical. There wouldn't be any benefit unless he had some monster project going on where he planned on building some super built motor.

Yea but thats with the trd supercharger that was built to work with out motor no fuel mods, he has added a rear turbo, even at same boost level it can push more air, so tuning would be a better option.

Why would the rear turbo need tuning more so than the TRD supercharger? If anything, the TRD would need it more considering the sky high intake temps the roots SC generates versus the low intake temps that the remote turbo provides.

7psi is 7psi no matter if it is sc or turbo. The only thing that is different between the to is where the boost kicks in at. And also that the turbo does not take power to make power like the sc does.

LMAO, really think 7psi is the same on different turbos or superchargers? If thats true why would you ever buy a larger turbo. I hope you dont think so you can run more boost. My 16g turbo at 30psi pushed 550cfm of air. My hx40 would push 800cfm at 30psi. Thats a huge difference in amount of air and the needed a lot more fuel for the larger turbo.

So if the turbos wheel effeciency is the same as the supercharger than yes 7psi would be the same. I highly doubt the trd sc and that rear mount turbo push the same air at 7psi.
