Haha I'm actually a fisherman. Use the rig for mostly daily driving and fishing on the weekends.
Haha imagine...I was just worried cause the side of my tire hit the curb. And I thought it might've f'd it up. But after reading all your responses (and jokes), I feel alot better. By the way, looks like you're a fellow angler huh?

Noticed this thread too late - all jokes has been said already : )
So a real story. Once being in US I nearly missed exit from a freeway and drove over a median my US friends for some reason have between right lane and ramp. I didn't really have time to look for medians, and I never seen anything like this here in Canada. Totally unexpected. Not a big median really, more like a small speed bump painted yellow to look like a line, but I hit it on 60 mph with front driver wheel. Was a good thump, I regretted my speedy turn immediately. I thought that alignment will be a must after that incident, but since I didn't feel any immediate impact on drivability I decided to it at when I got back home. I forgot about it of course after few days. Remembered only when I bought new tires few months after and to my surprise mechanic told me that everything was good and no adjustment was required.

I freaked out about the first small chip in the paint. Now I drive around with a damaged rear bumper, just keep thinking that as soon as I fix it, I'll drag it off-road or get rear ended... So why bother, just need to pull the trigger on that CBI steel rear bumper and forget it.

It's hilarious how we (and I mean everyone on the forum) look/treat our vehicles. If you were to head to the "less awesome" countries and see how they drive their Toyotas, it would put us to shame. I remember seeing a Hilux with 300,000+ miles on it, leaked everywhere, and gear oil was being used to when oil couldn't be found. It had never had a scheduled maintenance at the dealership and it's commute was anything but easy. :eyebrows:

Yes I have been to the "less awesome" countries lol. I also think it's hilarious that people change their oil at 1K or 3K because of "severe duty." I have seen severe duty and so far nobody here qualifies! In parts of Asia oil is changed by just adding what has leaked or been used. Never changed and the last Hi Lux I rode in China had around 350K on it. I have rode the diesel versions into mines as they use them as personnel carriers. No fenders, doors, flat wooden bed with benches, no windshield but the tape player worked! Welded pipe bumper to the frame rails. Yeah, these vehicles are a bit more rugged stock than we give them credit for.
