Rear Passenger Window Broke

So I had to spend my entire day yesterday towing a uhaul 3 hours one way over a mountain pass, through winding desert roads, and back...I was helping my mom pack up things from her condo since she's selling it. Sad to see it go too, beautiful country in eastern Oregon. I love the high desert climate there.

Anyways, I jammed up the back seat and there was a long metal rod from a bed frame that I had angled up since it was too long to sit flat and close the door. Well when I wasn't looking my mom opened the back door to put some more things in, and of course the long rod fell flat. Well she went to slam the door and, crunch. There wasn't actually a crunch, but something was definitely compressed in the door.

So now the rear passenger window won't roll up on its own power, you have to pull it up with your hands while pushing the roll up button. And to make matters even worst, on the way back there was some pretty rough spots in the road. And a large bump will now make the back window just drop down?!? Anyone have some insight into this? Do you think the window was knocked off its track or something?

I want to take the door panel apart and look at it closer, but not sure how to go about taking it apart. So if anyone has instructions, or has done it before, some tips would be great. I know this could cost a lot of dough to get it fixed, just with the labor to take the door apart and diagnose it....Any help is much appreciated!

sounds like you broke the track itself. not just off the track. but theres only one way to find out.

here is one thread. but its the front door but still basically the same thing minus a few steps.except i take the panel off, i dont bungee it. if you want i can make a video when i get home (approx 4hrs form now) of removing the back passenger door. i did mine a few times to paint my handles. its pretty easy. just take your time and dont break anything. although the clips are pretty sturdy imo.

Alright so I just cleaned her up, pretty dirty from the drive and it had been a while since I washed it up real good. After I was done, I went to tackle the window issue....and it works perfectly fine now?!?! :guitar2:

Maybe I got lucky, and just happened to put it back on the track when I used my hands to push it up. But I think she was really just mad at me and acting out since she was so dirty...

So no need for that movie Trevloc.... Best luck I've had all month, maybe I should go buy a lotto ticket now

hahaha i should have checked this when i got home. i just made the movie, but it only took like five minutes. ill still put it on youtube now for the next person that needs to do it. haha.

glad its fixed. always a good thing when it doesnt cost money

amen to that. i love this forum and have recieved so much knowledge its amazing. so when it comes to something i know about, i try and help as much as i can, a return the favor type thing. plus as you can tell, that video only took me like 3 minutes to make. 3 minutes of my time is well worth helping someone out on this site. :guitar3:
