Thanks for the quick shipping, got mine in the mail and they look great.... I swear I read somewhere on T4R about a suggestion to place a section of HDPE between the frame and the recovery point, thus that the HDPE would conform around the frame and not require you to grind anything down...

Anyone remember that post? Trying to figure out what thickness HDPE to go with, I *think* it was 1/4", but may have been 1/8"....

My brother told me it was on an FJ forum thread somebody did that. I would check fitment first before going to the trouble, I don't know if anyone has actually had issues with fitment just there is a weld seam nearby and I don't know how much they vary.

The factory tie down loop is mounted on the driver's side you just need to remove those 2 bolts and replace with the provided ones.

exhaust will need to be routed to a side exit. I paid $75 at an exhaust shop to do it and the resonator delete. Or you can just mount one on the driver side and leave exhaust as is.

You can use a device like a Factor55 hitchlink to pull from, but pulling hard from the chain loops on the towing device sounds sketchy to me. And for those that have removed the hitch for weight or offroad clearance purposes our devices work well.

Never pull on a hitch ball.

Yea not recommended to pull directly from the pin. Depending on how the strap loop is shaped, it could put the force on the center of the pin, causing it to bend or break. It's like there is leverage on the pin, vs the shearing force from a square mount held in by the pin.

I've seen online where those have bent, and it's a little harder to access, but it works I guess.
