rear spoiler

I am thinking of installing a rear spoiler on my 2004 4R, has any one ordered one online, and is it the same as the dealer installed one.

also was it hard to install....please help I can save a lot of money by installing one by myself...the dealer cost is $ 450-500 for part and installation.

so I am looking for good internet locations....to purchase one...please let me know if they come with templates for installation.

I've been looking for one as well. The ones that the dealers sell is an aftermarket one because Toyota doesn't make one for the 4Runner, post-production wise. The aftermarket one has a different CHMSL location, it's under the spoiler instead of being on the face of it. I've seen a couple of companies selling them on eBay, painted for $140-160. They look exactly like the ones the dealer sell. I also remember someone installing a Spoilerdepot.com spoiler a while back. Check out this thread.

I don't know about installation, I haven't installed one. The drilling of holes in my sheetmetal is what scares me. But, here are the instructions to give you an idea:

Thank, your 4R looks great!....after looking at the directions on installation am not sure if I want to do this......looks like it's not just few small holes.

where did you get your chrome tip......

Yeah, I witnessed the drilling of holes for my sister's spoiler and it's definately not something I want to do by myself.

I got the chrome tip from Greentree Toyota for about $40. I'm pretty sure you can get it from any dealer, but search around for the best deal. It's the Valor tip that Toyota sells.

I see you sued autoleatherinc.com, i was just on the web page they charge $ 550.00 much less they the dealer they asked 1,400

What does the leather look like and are you happy with it, do you have any picture of the interioer and the seats.

Wow, $550? I bought mine for $375 a while back.
