Rear Spring Spacers?

So with my CBI bumper + OME 898 springs, I was riding pretty level. But with goose gear, fridge, slider, and support gear in the back, I've got a tad bit of rearward rake, about 1.5-2 degrees.

The next step up is the 899, which is ridiculously strong, and I feel the ride quality would become crap. Am I right in thinking maybe a 1-1.25" spring spacer in the rear would be the best solution?

And what brands would you recommend?

Go 897 or 899's. they seem overkill on paper but hold up well with my CBI, fridge, camping gear and RTT. i have the 897's and with all that weight this weekend at the baja 500, the rear still had a plush ride and had about a .5" positive rake. unloaded...that's a different story (although not too bad)

Are the 897's stronger than the 898s (what I currently have installed)?

OME does this thing with some of their springs where the spring rates are the same but physical height of the coils are about .5" apart (if i remember correctly).

your 898's are the same as their 896 in spring rate with your coil being taller.

same with 897 and 899. i feel like the 899 would be really tall but i guess that would all depend on how much lift you're running up front. i try to keep mine reasonable with the Kings so the 897 work well for me.

I added daystar spacers to the rear on my metal tech long travel kit. I went for the medium springs for the ride but have the height of the heavy springs. Real pita to put in tho. Anything with longer than stock coils require you to almost fully compress the springs with compressors before installing the spacers. Gave me a about inch of extra lift.

An extra inch is all I need. So you say go for that?

Have you thought about coil airbags. Since you won't have all that heavy gear loaded 100% of the time you can just keep your existing suspension as-is and then air up when you need the extra support and don't want the sag. A lot of people use them when towing a heavy trailer.

It only costs $40, and takes a few hours. I'd go with that option first

I think so too. I'm going to try the spring spacers first. That may yield exactly what I'm looking for.
