Rear Springs: Installing 99 Talls Into a 97. Rubber Bump Stops?

Plenty of info out there on how to install rear springs, but not seeing anything about the rubber bump stops.

My 2000 has cone-shaped rubber bump stops inside the rear coils, but my 1997 does not. I want to put the 1999 tall coils into the 1997.

What would it take to add the bump stops to the 1997, or should I forget about doing that?

They just fit right on top of the springs. They are as easy to put in as it is to swap the springs. They’ll gain you 1/4 inch in the rear too.

Older runners didn’t come with them but they fit right in.

Glad to know the top rubber just slides in with no mods needed to hold it in place. Camelback Toyota calls it the Spring Seat 48302-60051.

There is also the Bumper 48306-60121 that goes in the bottom of the spring.

Does the Bumper simply slide in to the bottom of the spring with no mods needed either?

There is only the rubber cone that sits on top of the rear coils, no lower seat, the coil simply rests on the steel perch on the axle tube. Both my MFG Date: 1997 sr5's had the cone until I put LC coils in the back.

My 97 has the bump stops on the top of the rear springs. Nothing but the steel seat on the bottom.

Yeah, I just took another look under my 2000. It appears there is just one rubber cone that feeds through the top of the spring and reaches down to where the bottom of the spring contacts the mount on the axle.

Not sure why Camelback shows the other rubber item. I will be going to the local Toyota dealer today to place an order.

To save you the exorbitant price from your local stealership, I probably have an old set off my 2000 that you could have for the price of shipping. They were in perfectly fine condition.
