Rear wheel bearing.

So I was at the dealer complaining about rear end noise. (no I didn't have gas)
I suspected a bearing as it was a grinding cyclical noise.
Yup. Right rear wheel bearing. Dude said it about a 4-5 hour job involving a press.
Should I do both? Truck has 472,000km/290,000mls.
They book rate the same for each wheel.
Any thoughts or experience with this out there?

The rears are a pain in the ass, I wouldn't go to the dealer. Any shop with a press can make pretty quick work of it. Pull the shafts yourself and take them in to cut down on labor time, it is very simple to pull them.

The shop will also need a tool that bolts to the bearing case to allow the press to push the axle out of the bearing. It's very important to replace the tone ring (if ABS) and spacer at the correct spot on the axle shaft or else the axle seal will leak.

At 10 hours of labor you are totally being ripped off.

I've been quoted 4.5 hours labor total for replacing the axel seals and bearings on rear. That price includes both sides.

Find low miles used axles. Easy and cheap too! Just buy new oil seals from the DEALER.
may be $100 for everything.
