Rear window de-fog...

quit working awhile back, I've looked for a blown fuse and didn't find any. Now noticing the 3rd brake lite keeps blowing. Tried to look in the harness between the body and hatch for a grounding problem to no avail. FYI, rear window works fine. Any ideas??

how is the rear wiper please?

I think your instincts are right -

it sounds like a ground issue since maybe half of all electrical problems are-I would think you would have blown some fuse by now though if that was the case.

Hope you are not relying on the sight test to judge whether the fuse is good. That has bitten me more than once. Swap/substitute a exact replacement to be sure. Check the correct amperage against the template on the fuse cover.

Haven't found any under the dash or under the hood bad?

So is the rear wiper working?

No body damage back there?

the window goes up and down normally with the remote and the keyswitch on the hatch?

I am no mechanic but I am sure I can help talk you through figuring it out.

My god man-get some sleep!:D

Hi, I've seen a couple of those truck with the contact on the rear window that is broken. Remove the back door finish panel and if I remember, the 2 contacts will be on your left when you face the back door (opposite side of the truck). They are located on the lower part of the window, behind the metal sheet. If it is broken, you will see it, don't need to do any test. Replacement contact are available at your dealer.

I've also seen wires problem on the top part of the back door, maybe you should open the rubber protector to check for a broken wire if your third brake light dosen't always work.

Thanks for the replys, Guys.

Ron...Yeah, was just doing a visual. Will go back with a voltmeter. Yes, rear wiper works as well as the window. No body damage. Sleep? What's that???

Charlee...I did pop that protector open and didn't see anything 'cept taped up wires. PIA getting that lil bugger open, too. May try pulling that panel like you say.
