Rear window doesnt work! Why??

The part about everything being a closed circuit on 4runners.

If something is not plugged in correctly, is faulty, or a wire somewhere is frayed, broken, etc. then a circuit may not be closed, thus the rear window, wiper, defogger, etc etc are not getting power. I noticed this when I was working in my dash. I had not correctly replaced the hazard lights button and when I went to put my blinker on, they didn't work (some other things happened but I can't recall). Once I corrected it, everything worked. Hope this makes sense.

I'm sorta having the same problem. Window will go down about an inch then stop. Thought it was hitting wiper when going down but seems to be free and not hitting.

Had this same problem, would go down about halfway then stop. Your wiring harness is probably getting in the way. I opened up my hatch to find the wiring harness was pulled out of a couple clips and had fallen under the window.

I'm pretty sure that this caused one of the switch wires to break on me because I can only control my window using the key in the door. Plan on going through it all in the coming weeks. I want my rear window for the summer!

Good luck.

Thanks I'll take a look at it this weekend.

Well i called them and the guy said they charge $105 diagnosis..... i dont have that type of money, but i will end up prolly doing it in a month or so! after i get my bumper!

I did some digging this weekend on mine. Discovered a few broken wires in the harness between the body and the tailgate, in the rubber tube that bends back and forth every time you open and close the gate.
Now all I have to do is take off a couple of pieces of molding to splice these wires back together...

ohhh now that doesnt seem like that would cut the wires ..... but i guess i got nothin else today since summer started today for me and no one else is out yet :)
