Rear window Problem 93 4runner

Hello, long time lurker. I have a 1993 4runner and surprise surprise it has a rear window issue. But mine is a little bit different than they typical electrical issue. My window goes fine down with both door and console switch, but coming up is a different issue. Coming up on both door and console it gets quarter of the way uo then it just won't go any further. If you pull on it for a good ways it will go back up its self the last quarter but if you don't it just keeps sitting there jumping up and then going back down. .I have had this issue for about a year and it has never really bothered me until just recently i couldn't bring it up by myself anymore. Any ideas on it. I have done a little bit of research and i have heard everything for electrical too motor or its out of its tracks. Would be greatly appreciated for the help.

It's probably the regulator

Mine got slower and slower going up all the way, especially at colder temps. I replaced the motor with one that hadn't seen as much use, and it got a little better. But spraying the tracks and rubber gaskets with silicone spray, along with cleaning up the window and pulling out any tiny rocks from the gasket, helped the most.

Do that to help ease up on the amount of work that is needed to get the window up. But also look at those gears....all you have to do is pop off the cover and then the metal plate, and you can do all of that with the tailgate down if you want....though having the window up and laying down in the back will give you a better view.

Yep, mechanical issue. Open it up, inspect if damaged. If not damaged, clean and lube.
