Rear Window Won't Roll Down w/Mystery Issue

Had no trouble rolling my rear window down and up once today in my 1998 T4R but when I got home and tried to roll it down from inside it wouldn't work. Checked the window lock button and it was ok(all other windows rolled down fine). Checked rear window wiper and it wouldn't work along with the defroster. It wasn't until I tried to roll it down with the key on the tailgate that I noticed the the rear window defroster light comes(and stay's on) every time I turn the key and hold for a second, although this doesn't happen when the tailgate is lifted. The only way to get the rear defroster light off is to turn the ignition to the run position and that resets it without hitting any buttons on my part. After playing with it a dozen times or so I've also noticed that sometimes if I turn and hold the key to the left(lowering position) on the tailgate I'll get what sounds like a buzzing noise for a few seconds. Any ideas of what this may be, maybe a relay? But why does the rear defroster light come on and stay on?
Thanks in advance!!! Any ideas are greatly because chassis electrical is certainly one of my weaknesses.

Just finished doing this with same issues you had. You're going to have to remove interior back hatch panel. You will see the large relay unit. For some reason, Toyota engineered this do be installed with wires down, prob. To ease tension on harness. After going over many bumps etc, mine became dislodged just enough to have intermittent connection. I plugged it tight and reinforced with large zip ties to prevent further disconnection. With panel off, I greased window assembly and fluid filmed inside hatch to prevent rust.
