rear windshield wiper gremlin problem.

before I start. I have looked in searched have not found an answer to this problem. My rear windshield wiper is turning on when I turn the ignition key on. Stock controls do not seem to be working properly. Yes the rear window is all the way up that was the first thing I checked. And now the rear window does not come down at all. Has anyone run into this problem before. Any insight?

switch is off, it wipes on start-up and stops in the farthest L position

Yes, it does sound like his rear wiper may be in the "Int" (Intermittent) mode; that would also explain the rear wiper 'initiation' at start-up. Rgds!

also: wiper starts to move from the middle/stuck position when I press the rear window button up/dn (window does not move)

I understood the problem to be a single swipe of the rear wiper. In fourth gens, it meant your battery needed replacement.

Why not just pull the negative battery cable for about 5-10 minutes and see if that fixes it? Could just be a little weirdness in the module. Oh if you do disconnect the battery, make sure you let the vehicle idle for a few minutes with no loads to relearn proper idle.

I'm doing some searching today about another gremlin. Mine seems to be living in the radio. Turn the cruise off and the radio also shuts off, and radio locks up at times. Little bugger!

Could be that the head unit needs to be updated, we see A LOT of issues that are typically resolved with a firmware update of the Entune system.

The OP checked everything he was asked to check and yet the symptoms of the problem continue to 'SCREAM' Intermittent mode.

OP, Is this T4R by chance stiill under some kind of warranty, if so, I would take it to a dealer before it shorts something else related to your curent issue.

Going to take it in next week. The only other thing might be the harness connection in the spoiler might have come loose??? when I took the spoiler off to mount the rear view camera a few months ago. I'll update if this is the case

If you took it off, do it again and check yourself. Otherwise, the dealer will charge you for something that doesn't fall into the warranty category.

I was thinking about a shorted/shorting switch...

But I would double check the connection at the spoiler if you were messing with that earlier.
