Rear windshield wiper intermittent setting not working

Title kinda says it all but my rear wiper works when turned on but not on the intermittent setting. Any ideas? I done the roll down my window then roll it back up but that didn't help, defroster still works.

could possibly be the switch at the steering column, if the wiper works on another setting then the wiper motor is ok, and the fuse is ok. Its just not getting the correct signal from the switch to the motor to make it go into intermittent.

The wiper switch from toyota is $172.60 part # 8465214642 and it just plugs in w mabye 1 or 2 screws to hold it to the column.

Google that part # and it may bring up other parts suppliers w it available also

Hm that's possible, shouldn't be too hard to change out. When turned all the way on it does like to bounce up and down and inch or two first before starting sometimes if that changes anything. Is there a sensor on the wiper that let's it know where it's at? Maybe that's messed up? I need to test to confirm but I believe if I turn it on and get it going then go to intermittent, it works

I think you have to turn it to high and then turn it back one and it will go intermittent. Maybe you already know that but just in case...

Since you said it was jupming up and down, I would try to pop up the black cap and tighten the bolt that holds the wiper to the motor. Make sure the wiper is off then set it to the factory position, then tighten the bolt if its loose it will not grap the wiper arm correctly. Good Luck
