Reccomendations on Bike Rack please

I got mine from Performance Bike for $80 on special last year. It's a Xport Freeloader 4 bikes hitch rack.

I usually go alone and roof rack is too high for me to lift especially after the trail(tried). I got a garage, so mount it up take me less than 2 minutes with the bike and rack. I also got the hitch lock and cable for my bike. You can lock your bike on hitch rack, there's a hole you can put the cable through it. I also use the rack for my bike maintence. Save some $ for buying a repair stand!

I have the Yakima KingPin 4. Mounts to the hitch in about 10 seconds, bikes fit easily and quickly. To the point above, easy to work on the bike when it's in the rack.

Didn't want to have to climb for the roof rack. However, does slightly block visibility when loaded with 4 bikes.

like one of the other members said you would need a diff tray for a bike with disk brakes.

I second the recommendation for the Yakima Hookup or something similar. Probably doesn't fit your criteria for inexpensive, but it is the best rack I have owned. Takes literally seconds to mount or unmount a bike. Holds the very securely and will not scratch the frame or truck. I used to own a trunk mount rack and the Hookup is so much better, the extra $150 I paid for it vs. the trunk rack is more than worth it.

I have two bikes with a Yakima roof rack. They have the viper. Try www.orsracksdirect.com that was the best prices I've seen so far.

I decided to go with a hitch mounted rack as opposed to a roof mount. I am only 5'10" and can't see myself lifting my bike onto the truck. I originally wanted a Yakima, but the local distributor was out so I ended up going with a Thule, which I am more than happy with. The arms fold down when not in use and the rack tilts at 45 degrees so I can access the tailgate. I opted for the hitch lock and cable locks also. I looked at all of the various hitch mounts and decided this style fit my needs the best
