Recommendations for a portable camping BBQ?

I have 2 grills that I take depending on use, room and menu.

The Coleman Road Trip is flat, has a pretty big surface area and gets hot as a mofo on high. Don't close the lid if the burners are on high, you'll melt the plastic handle.
We have the griddle plate which the kids love for pancakes in the mornings and the circular stove grate for heating kettles for water etc.
As others have mentioned it's a PITA to clean, but honestly, I don't do it that often and it's been working fine.

The other gas grill we have is the Weber Q2100

It's slightly smaller from a grill size area perspective compared to the Coleman, but is higher for taller items like chicken and roasts. It doesn't seem to get as hot as the Coleman and seems to take longer to cook the same items when we use both side by side if we have a lot of folks camping in our crew.

For both grills I can't recommend enough the attachment that allows for hook ups to a 20lb propane tank. We run the grills and camp lights off a tank and for a week long camping trip we never run out of fuel and cook at least 2x a day on the grills. The little green tanks for the Coleman are great if you're heading to the beach or a day grill session, but they won't last a weekend for us so we bring the 20lb tank and give 0 f*#ks.

Based on usage we bring the Coleman Road Trip much more than the Weber, even though we can't usually close the lid often during cooking.

Not quite a BBQ but have you looked at the skottle? They are not cheap but pretty versatile.

+1 for the Weber Q1200. Bought one this past summer for a 10 day trip to Colorado and it worked great. I did use the 1lb green bottles. I purchased an adapter so I can refill the 1 lb bottles again for reuse just b/c they are easier to pack than the 20lb tank.

Not quite a BBQ but have you looked at the skottle? They are not cheap but pretty versatile.

A skittle is not a replacement for a grill, especially charcoal.

Weber Baby-Q for me. I use it home and camping for last eight years. Would prefer a charcoal grill, but there are always fire bans in place around the Rocky mountains during summer months
Ouch, Just checked on Amazon.... See them for ~ $200, bought mine for $120. Kinda pricey now.
