Recommended Auxilliary Lights

I was wondering what everyone recommends or considers the best auxiliary lights to install.
I was looking at the PIAA 520's. Can you use those as driving lights, or should they only be used on off roading roads. I heard these ones can blind other drivers.
Is there a recommended auxiliary light that seems to have the best lighting distance?

There are a lot of aux lights out there, a lot of excellent options depending on your needs. Upgrading your headlights first is usually the most bang for your buck, there are several threads on that already. If that's not enough, you'll have to define what you want and don't want, depending on what you'll use them for. It sounds like these are primarily for road use.

Well what is your price range? As that really influences what you can get. There are many threads on this so also try a search- here is a very quick breakdown of some options....

On the low end of the spectrum there are Hella 500's, which you can take out the 55w bulbs and run 100w bulbs. I run 4 of these on my roof and they actually do a great job. You can also always buy a cheap HID kit and convert these to HID's.

Then comes KC Slimlites. I run 4 of these on my front lightbar and they are great lights. I have two 130w long range and two 100w driving beam. I think they are a great balance or performance and price.

I do not have experience with the PIAA's but I hear good things, they have many different beam patterns and color bulbs available (really white,normal, yellow).

The best driving lights are Light Force, but you will have to pay quite a bit of these. The best size for you would be the striker 170's. You can actually adjust the beam pattern like you would on a maglite.

Most all of these lights will blind on coming drivers unless you have them aimed within the beam pattern of the low beams, which sort-of negates their purpose.

Thanks for the advice (don't mean to hijack) but I am also looking for some good aux lights, possibly HID for ARB sahara that I am mouting to my 01 limited. Are HID conversions of Hella 500s expensive/worth it, or are a pair of 100watt bulbs, like you used, sufficient? Would the HID simply by stylistic at this point?
