hey, i have a 06 4runner and im looking to get some new tires anyone knows how big of tires can be placed on a 06 4runner?

Michelin LTS M/S2. Extremely smooth tire and definately a bit pricey but they last a long time, over 50K at least, and are worth every penny.

I got some Cooper Discoverer AT3s. Have about 800 miles on the and they still have tread. So far so good.

The OEM tires my 2007 4Runner came with the Michelin Cross Terrains (now discontinued and most similar to the Ms2) and I got 80K out of them. I have never driven on a tire with ZERO road noise until I drove on the Cross Terrains! I did a ton of reaserch when it was time to replace them and I considered several other brands, but Michelin always came out on top in my own comparisons. Always more expensive too, I might add.
I now have the Michelin LTX AT2s and I'm super happy with them. Just read reviews on Tire Rack.com. Many people were getting nearly 100K out of them.
I'm a huge aviation nut, and for me, Michelin's credibility just goes up even higher when I consider they are standard equipment on all Airbus jets and many Boeing models when they roll off the assembly line.

I had Goodyear Silent Armors that were pretty nice and lasted me 50k. I went with a slightly different size with my lift -- 255/75 17. I just replaced those with Toyo Open Country A/T in 265/70 -- so far they are quieter than the GY and ride really nice. I also looked at the Hankook Dynapro ATM and it looked like a solid tire as well. I just got a really good deal on the Toyos. If you search the web you can find a bunch of reviews on these tires.

I got BFG's on both my V8's. Love em. Im a fan of the raised white lettering.

Bfgs pack with snow and loose a bit of traction. Also u will only get 40k miles out of them. Oh and they hydro plane like crazy with the slightest bit of water on the ground. In my opinion Bifgs are great on the dirt and suck on everything else.
Ltx ms = great all arounder but lack on looks!
Yokohama geolamders ats are the best I have found for every condition = nice all terrain look that packs a punch in all conditions.
You will get 90k miles out of both tires! Going with Yokohama will save u $200 over michelins!
I'll post a shot of the geolamders for ya later today, my father in law has them. He has about 50k on them (ford f 150 so the tread is wearing a little faster as his truck is heavier than our trucks).
Mine are ltx ms2 31 10.50 r15 I wish i went with the yokohamas as i would have saved big $$$

BFG what? They make many many variants of tires. Also nobody can honestly recommend a tire because the OP doesn't state his driving habits or terrain.
Everyone is posting about the LTX M/S which is a great all season street tire but what if he wanted something to go off the beaten path on the weekends?
