things just break. thats how i got mine. the first owner drove it 160k and the front diff blew. didnt want to fix it so i got it for cheap. got it fixed and no biggie
I dont know if you've ever thought about an elocker retrofit, but now may be the time for one! Just a thought
Damn, that sucks big time. Funny because we were just talking about saving some cash for maintenance. At least a diff isn't too hard to replace. I'm not sure you want to go the e-locker route unless your uncle has some time and fab skills. The only way I'd do it without spending a ton, is to find a 5 speed 4runner e-locker axle complete. They you would have the 4.10's and wouldn't have to regear the front.
IMO, just replace the diff for now. There should be some cheap ones around the bay at yards. Just go that route for now and save your pennies for when you want to regear and need a locker.
I will double check with the Fiance, but I shouldn't have anything going on next weekend. Should be good to go and hopefully no rain. Plus your headlights might be in by then and I will get to see them. :naughty:
Alrite guys,my car is still in the shop but will be out soon,
Now that I sold my 20's I will be getting possibly 17 inch XD Addicts wrapped in 285/70/17 GY Wrangler Duratracs, still not 100% decided but working on it.:girl:
