redrunner02 build thread

Sad day

My runner started making some really bad clunking sounds on acceleration, it began to shake the whole rig and jerk, it was awful, had to get it towed to my uncles shop, I hope she's ok..I need her ready so i can get my lift on! AHHH!:sobbing: 20121129_095257.jpg

I had my sparkplugs changed about a month ago but i'm having EVERYTHING checked,
i could feel the clunking through the transmission so I don't know why me!:wtf:

Santacruzrunner- we should still be good for this weekend..
unless its something too major which i hope its not

Hopefully it isn't the pink milkshake. Did you ever get a trans cooler installed? No worries if it doesn't work out. We could probably do the weekend after if you have a free day. Might work out better without all the rain. Just keep us updated.

IMO though it's the hood, and bumper that are causing your problems. Remove them and everything will work out perfectly. I will just swing by and dispose of them for you...

Haha almost got me there, very clever

Well turns out my rear differential is totally busted,
I have to get it swapped out so my wallet just had a mini heart attack
so i'm glad i didn't get a roof rack just yet..so next weekend it is, sorry guys im super bummed out about this:crybaby:

Damn, that sucks big time. Funny because we were just talking about saving some cash for maintenance. At least a diff isn't too hard to replace. I'm not sure you want to go the e-locker route unless your uncle has some time and fab skills. The only way I'd do it without spending a ton, is to find a 5 speed 4runner e-locker axle complete. They you would have the 4.10's and wouldn't have to regear the front.

IMO, just replace the diff for now. There should be some cheap ones around the bay at yards. Just go that route for now and save your pennies for when you want to regear and need a locker.

I will double check with the Fiance, but I shouldn't have anything going on next weekend. Should be good to go and hopefully no rain. Plus your headlights might be in by then and I will get to see them. :naughty:

not the toyota solid axles, i dont know if you have noticed but they are damn near bullet proof. only way it would break is if the fluid was never changed.

im just saying youll save a lot of money on tires and gas if you stick with even the 17's. and not to mention how your gears will react with the change.

Is your truck fixed btw?
