Reinforced rear lower control arm mounts

Has anyone reinforced the rear lower control arms versus buying the skid plates? If so can you show how you did this?

You could buy or make new beefier control arms... Sonoran Steel makes some nice ones... then add the Lotus mount skids

I don't want to make new ones and have to deal with welding them on. I would rather buy the Lotus ones or beef up the stock ones. I thought I saw a picture or two of some beefed up ones, but I am not finding anything using the alternate search.

For $100 just buy the Lotus ones. You can even get them a little cheaper and with free shipping on Amazon Prime. Some guys have even made their own versions and said that for the price of the Lotus skids and the time and money they put into their own that they would have just assumed bought the Lotus originals. They are a good product and you are supporting a 3rd gen and Toyota enthusiast that gets out and wheels his rig but is quick to answer any support question from a customer.

I can attest to the design and strength of them also, mine have been HAMMERED and nothing but scratches in them.

Pretty sure your the one that posted some videos of the beating on the Lotus skids in thread. Maybe your build thread. Definately leaning towards buying them but also looking into other options.

If you don't wish to make/weld your own, I would go with above link also.
They will save you. If anything, won't be bending the mounting area for new arms. Trust me. Made and welded my own do to the same problem.

Is there anyone that offers Rear Control Arm Mount replacements? I installed the Sonoran Arms and Lotus skids but now the Right side mount is bent pretty bad. I know the Jeep guys have the replacements available but I have searched for 3rd Gens with no luck.

To bad you don't want to make them. Would only cost you about $15 if you already have a welder. So much of the stuff people buy for their 4runners can be made for 1/8-1/4 the price. For example, take the Savage Skids that cost $300. I made my own for less than $60, and they look pretty close to Savage's. I'm going to invested in a press brake for my 20 ton shop press. No more cutting and welding, just bending.

Agreed. I'm always strapped for time, that's way my projects always end up half finished. Hopefully next month I'll be able to start fabricating more on my 4runner. First thing is making another set of skids that are bend rather than welded. Also have a couple add-ons for it, like a removable section allowing you to drain your oil.
