900 miles and already replaced the windshield due to a rock chip. Went though hell to have the insurance company approve an OEM windshield.

Yes, but all taken care of under warranty - no questions asked.

Transmission replaced
Driveshaft replaced


No other real problems, my headlights are a little foggy and my seats crunch and my steering wanders a little and the nose dives when I brake, but it's the only SUV that I would use to do my job. Full frame, real 4wd and decent gas mileage.

Just got a 2012 TE in August. Only have 1500mi on it so far. So, really can't question the reliability of it at this time.

I will say this: the choice for buying the new 4R was based on my experience with a 1997 3rd Gen 4Runner which I owned for 15 years. Had to replace the usual stuff like: power antenna (broken spline), renew the starter contacts, replace water pump & timing belt. All in all, nothing I would call "un-reliable"

There are alot of "bells & whistles" (computers) in the newer vehicles, so I did opt for the extended warranty (platinum package). Getting to point in my life where I don't have the tools or means to do much more than oil changes and simple wrenching.

Hopefully, I'll get 15 years outta the new rig with few or no major problems.

7000 miles, had the steering column replaced due to a rattle, it came right back and I can't be bothered to fix it again because its a minor issue and only noticeable at low speeds. The car feels indestructible, the build quality is tangible.

I have what I think is a funny story, if just to me if nobody else. Today I went to put on the rear defroster, and it didn't work. Went to use my rear windshield wiper, didn't work. This is all happening today as my memory is reminding me I recently contributed to this thread.

Medium-long story short on the way to dinner tonight it sounds as though a window is open as cars pass, so I turn off the holiday jams. The stupid rear window was down about 1/2 - 1 inch! Not enough to see but just barely hear. I rolled it up and now the rear defrost works along with the rear wiper. No need to look at fuses etc. More importantly nothing still wrong

44k miles. Headlights replaced per TSB, rear hatch weather stripping replaced after tear. Otherwise perfect. Not even a rattle.

My mom's '11 LE has 71K miles w/ no problems to report. And she has two speeds on country roads...stop and go. But hey she did make it 55K miles on the stock factory tires...which are a disgrace to put on a 4Runner of any generation.

Recently had a speed sensor replaced under warranty (not the T4R's fault) at 19K miles, no issues yet.

Happy to report that my 2010 TE with KDSS at 51,300+ miles with no issues so far ( All TBS completed under warranty with exception of front drive shaft replacement to be checked before 60,000 miles!)

30133 miles so far on my 2011 LE and no issues so far. Only had to get the lumbar crunch issue addressed under warranty. The dealership was great and also agreed to change the leather cover on the drivers seat that was showing premature wear.
