Relocs questions for 4th gen lift kits.

I've only heard of one Toyota dealer doing/selling lift installs and that was one in San Antonio, TX. I can't remember exactly but I do remember it was way more than what it was worth for me to do it myself.

The warranty for the specific parts the lift is connected to is void but the burden of proof is on the dealer to prove the lift caused or contributed to the damaged part.

Well then, I guess my options up here are pretty limited. Overhauled a couple of engines in my youth, but don't want to learn how to do a lift on a new car still under warranty.

There are several of us with first hand experience that can help in all the details. If you can OH and engine you can do the lift. Heck "I" did mine alone. I went slow, took my time, and spread it over two days to allow my arms to rest. Compressing the springs tires your arms out unless you have air tools. I did my front one afternoon and the rear the next morning.

I hope I can compress the springs with big clamps (say 12 inch C-clamps), I'm not as strong as I used to be. A little lazy in the long winters. How much does the kit cost?

I believe it was Mike Calvert Toyota in the SA area.

I will wait until I am out of factory warranty before attempting a lift.

I purchased and like the looks and performance of the Sears Craftsman Strut Spring Compressor. $39.99 They also have saftey pins to keep it from slipping off the springs.

They are and need to be VERY strong. You don't want a compressed coil spring to ruin you life by uncompressing under your chin. That would make for a very bad day. Also, this brand is a little more low profile than some and you need the space when doing the front end. Not much room under there.

A year ago, the Revtek was about $400 + shipping.

Front end alignment is a must after the lift settles in.

I don't blame you. Mine was too low to do what I purchased it to do compared to my 3rd GEN so I made a decision and went with it. I respect your decision to wait. I struggled with it for a while myself.
