Thats a great way to help with flinch and all, especially in handguns. As long as the shooter knows that one is in there (or even backwards, full of magnum loads except one low power bird shot) and not a complete surprise.
remmington 700 sps tactical or something else?

Just got my scope in the mail
Bore sighted. Taking it to the range this weekend to get it dialed in at 100 yards. My shoulder is going to die

Had a good day at the range with 2 of my buddy's
Even got to shoot some 10 gauge 3.5" magnum slugs

There's a trick to shooting slugs and not having your shoulder turn into a black-and-blue mess.
You lean forward slightly, then "push" the gun away from you. You're still keeping it firmly seated against your shoulder, but simply applying slight pressure against the gun in the direction of the muzzle.
It sounds weird, but it works. On range day, we fire probably 200 slugs each. That includes a couple of female colleagues who probably weigh 100 lbs. dripping-wet.
I used the same technique when I worked in AK. We had "bear guns" that were Marlin .45-70's with custom-made 540-grain rounds. Those still hurt a bit, but you can fire more than one if you're doing it right.

I don't think I need to lean into a shot I just don't think anything over a 20ga is worth the time all that stuff going
