remote clutch

I have a 93 4runner 22re with a 5 speed trans. last year I lost my left leg and have been trying to figure out how to use a motorcycle clutch or similar setup to activate my clutch. right now I have a squeeze handle duct taped onto the peddle which is giving me tennis elbow. I can mount the master to the fender well inside the motor compartment but am at a loss as to how to make it less pressure to activate it..
I was looking at 12vdc actuators but the problem comes in finding a position sensitive potentiometer or rheostat.. you can't on/off your clutch like that and the metered ones would be ok for taking off but shifting gears would be a drag.
I really love my truck but if I can't figure it out I have to get something with an automatic...:Cry:

One hand on the clutch, one hand on the shifter.... which hand is steering?

One possibility would be a spring-loaded handle mounted to the steering wheel similar to those fake "shift paddles". It would be connected to a linear actuator connected to the slave cylinder (or even to the existing clutch pedal so other people can drive). Fine-tuning the release point would take a lot of skill, but you could keep one hand on the wheel at all times.
