Remote rear window button

Great, thanks.
This will be the perfect compliment to the sleeping platform I'm building this weekend (and next).

You want to do it on an '04? Better check carefully. It won't work from within the truck on any third gen from '99 on, because the rear window is controlled by a digital signal from the BODY ECU to the BACK DOOR ECU over a single multiplex wire. It can only be done at the key switch inside the liftgate. I'm guessing '04 is similar.

Ah, good to know! Thanks for the heads up. I figured they all used similar components but I did notice that the position of the wires was different.

When you open your rear door, check to see where is your wire loom is. If it on the L (drivers) side then all your wires will be on the L side and opposite if it's on the R.
I didn't read that your truck is an 04, I just assumed it was a 3rd gen being this is the 3rd gen side!

And yes it can be mounted anywhere in the truck. All you have to do is power the switch and ad wires. The stock switch is all the way in the front of the truck, so do you think it's working the window all the way in the back?
Anything can be accomplished with the right ideas.

I meant it won't work by accessing the wires in the truck. You would have to add new wires from the switch back to the liftgate or forward to the BODY ECU..

I explained how the switch in front works the window in back, so no need to ask.

Is it possible to make the switch up front always hot and then tap into the front switch's wires where they run in the back, to control the window without having to have the key in the ignition?

Yeah there's three wires running from the back of the switch down to the blue control box.

One white and black one which is the ground. It would be your center post on the switch.

Then there is a dark green with a yellow stripe and dark green with a red stripe. These are your +12v. One is up and one is down. They are located on the blue box. One row in from the passenger side stacked on top of each other.

They go on the momentary part of the switch.

Is the white and black wire white with a black stripe going to the blue/orange box?

Ok so has anyone figured how to get window up with remote or by turning key in tailgate key hole without holding it?

4 seconds is just too long to have to hold the key turned? [emoji23]

No just good if need to roll up quickly as I am walking away. It is kind of like if you going to have auto on the up why not have it on the down. Just would be a good thing to have. Given the mod is not as difficult, might give it a swing but not a pressing issue. There are bigger things to worry about, like what lift kit am i getting for xmas...:pray2:
