Remote Start

I'm looking for some options regarding remote start. I am NOT looking for anything more than remote start...no fancy alarm systems, nothing. Just looking to keep the factory key fob and possibly integrate it into that.

Is anyone using a just a remote start system? If so, can you let me in on the details? I'm not looking forward to these GA summers with the heat and humidity. :repuke:

i didnt want anything fancy this time myself so i just drove past the local custom shop & purchased the one on sale in the window add, its an avital priced at just over 100 bux with free install. had the toyota keyfobs programmed for it ,have had no problems & its works fine for me.

There's one by viper that is only remote start, forget the model # but I've heard it's good.
If you look on bestbuy.com, there's a bunch of reviews on them to help you decide which is good. Plus, if you buy there, they install for free.

Also, PC Richard & Son has it too, if I recall correctly they had it a bit cheaper than Best Buy. I think it was $60 plus free installation through them.

Nice, just did a quick google on them and found the site. Looks to have decent prices, although they're in the north and I'm stuck in sunny, hot, humid south florida! hahah

Do you know what is done with the key fob? I'm hoping to keep the factory one.

there is a piggyback module available from DEI/Directed, 555 module if i remember correctly, you can use the factory keyfob to remote start by pressing Lock twice. I had this on my 4runner before i swapped it for a Compustar system.
