Remove black cargo insert?

Is there a way to remove the black plastic cargo liner with the tie downs in a 4th gen? I'd love to be able to put an amp in there or something, but the liner makes the space very small. I found one bolt behind a removeable panel at the rear, but can't (easily) see any other mount points.

no its aftermarket, my 07 sport didnt have jbl since i didnt want that, but that is how i have my sub amp hidden.

Yes that's exactly what I want to do! And yeah you wish that amp came with the 4runner... lol. Looks like that JL is about as big as my Coustic sub amp... and would be perfect.

How do you get in there? Do you have any fabrication pictures so I can get an idea how much space is in there, or how you attached the board? Do you have any problems with ventilation/overheating?

first take off the panel, then if u look closer u have to remove some bolts and then u remove the bin, ok the next thing is to take the panel and cut some parts of it off, i would prefer to cut everything off but leave the same stock hole line, next get some mdf, i used some 3/4inch, measure the inside hole and make a cut, and then measure the width and make a cut, then to do the fenderwell, measure that and do bottom and width cut, after that u should get like a gun shape look on ur mdf, after that get like a 1inch by 2inch wood and cut 2 of them for the mdf to secure, after that it should look like a c shape, then wrap the back of the rack or stuff some home carpet to it, so i prevents vibration wen bass hit, then u secure it to the top part and the bootom part of the metal and u should have a decent looking amp rack, and it should take u couple of hours to complete a full install, took me almost the whole day from start to finish on my complete system.
