Removed Stock Radio - Now It Doesn't Work!!

I pulled the dash apart to pull my clock and noticed a bunch of wiring for an aftermarket amp and sub. So I pulled the stereo out to get a better look and then just replugged everything. Now it won't power on? I'm thinking its something more complicated then this unfortunately as I have a lot of unusual wiring stuff under there. Just curious cuz I have that same window sticker saying that it won't work if removed.
Any ideas on this issue? I'm having the same problem.
A few years ago I unplugged the antenna from the radio to stop the horrible noise from the broken antenna. I'm finally getting around to replacing the antenna so I pulled the radio out to plug the antenna back in and when I went to power it up...nothing. It did eject a CD when I pressed the cd eject button, but won't let me reinsert the CD or power up the radio at all.
I've tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal with no success. I double checked the connections on the back of the radio. I didn't disconnect any others when reconnecting the antenna cable.
Next I'm going to check the fuses and if that doesn't work unplug the antenna cable and see if I can get power back to at least use the CD player.

DOME and ACC are the two fuses you need to check. Dash clocks die all the time so it may not be related, or you may have put its plug in the famous 'dummy socket' when you worked on the radio. Lots of people do.

My Radio Doesn't Work Either
Ahoy! This is my first post on this site after many many hours of reading up after I got my brand-spanking 22-year old 1994 4Runner. She's amazing. She's got an after-market stereo installed (a GR-202USD) that works great except for it doesn't pick up radio signal. It's not even fuzzy or anything, just silence. I can switch stations but nothing happens.
I've never worked on a car's electrical system so I'm looking for some baby steps I can take to investigate this myself.

Did you ever figure out this problem? Mine will come on sometimes on initial startup or when just turned to on and will either stay on, fade away, or just be silent from the start. The radio shows that it's on and I have full fiction of the radio just no sound. Its an aftermarket radio and amp. Both come on and all fuses are good just occasionally no sound.
Could a bad battery be the cause? I haven't tested it but the fading makes me think the amp might be getting enough juice to turn on but not power anything.
Let me know your thoughts.
Hi, I realize this is an old topic, couldn't find a newer one. I have a 17 year old Toyota Prado and the sensor on the radio is not working properly. The service said to change it for a new one, as it will be more expensive to repair than buy a new one. Is there anything you can advise me on?

Battery Reset
I was having problems with my 1999 4Runner not starting and after a lot of trial and error it all came down to a bad stereo. I didn't even know that was possible but it is. But when it would get into a mood and not start at all, I found that all I had to do was unplug the car battery for a second and plug it back in. And I kept having to do that until I replaced the stereo. Now it starts every time.
So if your stereo is having any sort of problems, an easy test would be to just unplug the battery to reset it.

The problem is that you need to replace your screen in general. They are not connected through bus lines as the phones do but are soldered on. It's very difficult to find such screen. Buy the new ANDROID CAR STEREO toTOYOTA LC PRADO 150 2017 Car Stereo for Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 2017+ - Android | SMARTY Trend. If I am not mistaken, you may install this stereo system even to PRADO 200. You can make it on your own. There's nothing difficult. Pull out your old stereo, connect the terminals and put it back.
Have you looked in the distributor? Maybe that's where you had the problem, because there are very few parts that can break in a boombox. But the distributor, it can cause such problems.

I have read on this forum for years over the course of my 2 runners I've had. I now find myself at the last resort making a reply on this 14 year old thread. Was any one ever able to solve this radio issue in the '97 4runner? I just picked up a '97 Limited about a week ago. It had an aftermarket radio installed in it that did not work. I decided to reinstall a factory radio I picked up at a junkyard. I have the exact same issue now. I have the window sticker saying will not work if removed, I have a stock head unit from a '97 4runner SR5 out of a junkyard, as well as one that came out of my previous '98 4runner (confirmed works) and the stock amp from that vehicle. Neither radio displays a screen or lights. Currently installed I have my previous stock deck from the '98 SR5 installed with the matching AMP. I've tried holding the "Power button, 1, 4, & 6" to attempt a "Master code" reset with no success. I also have a CD player that ejects a CD, however, no ability to re-insert it.
I Just installed a new heater core in the '97 and had the positive and negative terminals disconnected while the dash was out for safety while removing the airbag. Now that I have finished that job the radio is in the exact same non-functioning condition it was in before I started the heater core project.
I have checked over all the fuses I can see in that car. Seemingly it never had a dome light that functioned. I diagnosed that, and in the midst of it arc'd out against some metal in the headliner while removing the bulb to inspect it. Found less than 1 volt to the dome light when switched to "on" I replaced the 15 amp "DOME" fuse and restored functionality. With still no success on the radio. I'm out of ideas at this point and would really enjoy using the stock radio for the time being. ANY HELP, sly remarks or comments would be greatly appreciated on this!
