Removing the cats

I haven't really seen any posts on this so far. I'm just curious for those of you exhaust guys, what you're thoughts are on this. I have the 4.7 V8 with a muffler delete right now. Looking for something a little louder. I know this truck has 3 cats on it plus an extra resonator which essentially is a 4th cat. I'm looking to remove the 2 downstream cats and keep the two right after the manifolds. Any thoughts or ideas on this?

URD makes a quality catless Y-pipe which will sound waaay better and flows better too. Id give that a shot, i don't really see a downside.

I removed mine to fit my skid plates up higher. More drone and a bit louder of course, but still sounds awesome. No CELs or anything.

We don't have emissions testing in our state.
