replace fog lights

I can crawl under there and pull the connector out, what I can't get to is taking the bulb out. I have replacements, got to be at trick to this. "Thought it was similar to the connectors above I spray every 6 months with Contact cleaner.

Service manual indicates to remove the fog light bulb - "turn the fog light bulb counter-clockwise and remove it."

I can remove the bulb connector fine on both sides. I can't remove the bulb from the connector. This is similar to the connectors up above I shot with Contact Cleaner every 6 months. thanks

Turn bulb like a 1/5ish turn counter clockwise and pull out

It is not the bulb guys, it is the connector to the wire harness. it is in the 30's now, will try tomorrow.

What are you talking about then you say here what you cant get is taking out the bulb

It is not the bulb, it is the connector (wire end) that I am talking about, will try it in the morning. I do not know how flexible this plastic piece is,

It would the same as the headlight bulbs.

The connector simply should just pull apart from the bulb with a little bit of wiggling as long as you have the lock release tab pushed in enough.

Of course you should be carefull not to pull on the wires themselves.

The only thing that should make it more difficult would be corrosion inside the connector.

I used a better light and better screwdriver to slip those parts apart. lower 40's outside helped. now, putting them back into place felt funny. Powers up fine, will drive it tomorrow and see if they hold. I guess cheap ebay lights are not a bright yellow. thanks all

Did it blow up (bulb glass cracked)? Did you wipe the new bulb down with isopropyl alcohol or similar stuff before putting it into service? was it seated properly? Just seeing if there is a lesson for the rest of us, thanks!

well, I did pull it and reset it in the socket, no luck. I'll order better yellow fogs soon. broken? no, looked fine.

Ok. I replaced one last week. the original bulb had blown into pieces. not sure why. The new bulb worked - then I thought it was busted one week later cuz I got the fast clicking when I used the turn signal. I was all set to replace it again when I realized I didn't seat it in all the way. It takes some force to push it in and it felt like I was going to crush the bulb. anyway.

You didn't by chance touch the bulb with your bare hands or otherwise get any contaminants on them did you?

Guys he is talking about the plug that goes into the bulb that provides electricity to the bulb!!!!! OP those plastic plugs can be a pita to remove and sometimes even break as the plastic is old. Try slipping in a flat head screwdriver and play with it to get some movement.
