Replaced vc gaskets still smells of oil sometimes

Can't see any leaking as I washed it all down via pressure washer but smells like burning oil if I park nose up om a hill so I am assuming the half moon seals are to blame? I did fipg them so not sure what else to look out for?

Did you replace the camshaft housing seal plug in the rear as well?

Any possibility that the valve covers themselves have a crack in them?

Sorry to hear that man, but you may have to do it all over again and put sealant on the cam seals and those half moons.

I used orange copper RTV, it's high heat and seals pretty much anything. Even used it on slip-on exhaust collectors, different car.

Did you change the spark plug seals also? How about the PCV valve? When I did my valve covers I did all my gaskets on the valve covers so I wouldn't have to go back and do them later. But I would agree that it's probably the cam covers(half moons) that are leaking slightly.

When I did this job Ia did the vc gaskets with tube seals but cam cover caps slipped my mind and I would venture to guess this is the source om my problems, half moons are aluminum are aluminum correct?
I just ran a bead of rtv over those and on al corners,

Did you clean oil all the way down to exhaust?

If not, then it will take some time for all the remaining oil to burn off. Does it still smoke at a stop light? I only tightened my vc bolts (some so loose I could turn them by hand more than once) about 2 yrs ago, took over 6 months to stop burning odor even though I cleaned off engine. Just yesterday I check all bolts, about 1/3 loose as before, tightened again (yet they were not leaking yet). Its a Toyo feature!
