Replacement Body Mounts

So I am contemplating doing a body lift (stuck between 1.5" & 2.0" at the moment, but that's another deliema) and I figure the 4Runner is a decade old and I can see small cracks/tears in some of the bushings; so if I'm going to go through the trouble of lifting the body I might as well get new body mounts.

Which brings me to the current deliema... factory ones are expensive (so far the cheapest I have found is about $30-ish PER mount), I'm not entirely sure if I want to go PolyUrethane (i.e. Energy Suspension) as those typically are stiffer riding based on my experience in performance vehicles and I really don't want to make the ride that much harsher... but I also don't know if I feel comfortable trusting non-factory brands (i.e. guys you'd see in Kragens/Autozone) for something like this as I'd like to go at least another decade before having to replace the body mounts again.

Suggestions, experience, ideas?

I don't remember him saying he replaced his body mounts with new ones when he did his body lift last time we talked about his body lift.

I actually looked into this same thing but ultimately shelved the idea after I saw the OEM part cost. I don't have experience with aftermarket body mount bushings but hopefully someone who does will chime in.

I don't remember him saying he replaced his body mounts with new ones when he did his body lift last time we talked about his body lift.

I just assumed he would have had some better knowledge on it than most.

Yeah... I was looking at VillageToyotaparts.com and just the top & bottom bushing for 1 body mount ended up being about $80...

I haven't had bad experience with Energy Suspension's Poly Bushings, but I don't know if they are as comfortable a ride a the factory rubber units as most of their products I have used in the past were to stiffen up the suspension.

So as it stands the options for replacing body mounts are Factory Toyota ones at about $700 for all 8 with hardware... that's a wonderful alternative.

I haven't noticed any change in ride when going from rubber to poly body bushings on any vehicle I've installed them on. Even when upgrading the suspension bushings, no difference in ride, well, except for a better controlled ride.

Resuscitated!
I’m about to do the mount bushings on my 4gen, and I ended up just buying the top bushings and new nuts. The old nut part number has been superseded. Interestingly, the new nut is the same as the front strut nuts.
I talked to energy suspension, and they plan on introducing a brushing kit for body on the 4gen in the next 6 months to a year. As of last week, their most recent kit for vehicles was up to 2002. I mentioned the price of the stock bushings and told him they’re missing out, and he was blown away and agreed with me.
He also mentioned to just replace the tops. The bottoms rarely wear out like the tops, and he said that the only reason energy does too and bottom was to maintain the proper spacing on vehicles, and to match durometers.
I bought stock Toyota too bushings from Conicelli in PA, had them shipped, and that’s what’s going on the rig. Hopefully it helps my sliders fit better.

An update:
Took me 5.5 hours and I did it by myself. That’s from putting on my shoes to taking them off, phone calls and neighborly visits included. The biggest pain in the butt is taking the washer fluid reservoir out, and the messiest. Have a basin or BIG bottle handy.
It may not be a bad idea to get some new bolts and /or metal tubes (bushings?). The ones on the 3rd position back were rusted pretty good, and I live in a relatively dry area.
I gained 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch in height going to the new bushings on top, and a smoother ride. Definitely.

$300.76, from Conicelli auto parts online, but I did have a 10% or 15% discount. Wasn’t cheap. I was having issues with my shrockworks sliders and thought maybe this would help the clearance. I had to grind the mounting plates on the sliders, but perhaps this will help out a small bit. We’ll see.

I bought:
Front(engine bay mount):52201-35100
#3 cross member (Labeled 2U on the bushing): 52203-35210
#4 cross member (labeled 3U on bushing): 52205-35160
Rear cross member (Labeled 4U on bushing): 52207 35050

Nuts: these are superseded parts, and I used 90177-A0012 . It says lock nut and it isn't. But it is a flanged nut. On second thought, there's a chance that flange has a texture on the bottom and I just didn't notice it...

if you have 3rd row Seats, there is another part number for the bushings that go on that crossmember. I don't have 3rd row seats and didn't need them.
