Replacing CV Axles

Google CVJ axles before you make up your mind. I've never used them, but several guys on the board swear by them.

This. Also.. Im not sure if they are still doing this, but Autozone shafts are guaranteed for life. So when you blow one up and bring them the pieces, they give you a new one.. Just like that.

@$56 or so bucks... you can even keep a spare on hand *if* you grenade one on the trail. replaced both mine with autozone lifetimers and they have held up just fine with my occasional wheeling & camping.

As long as people keep buying 4Runner's. I do what I can now to not get frustrated. I figure if people are willing to answer then the OP is getting his information and the people adding into the discussion must not mind. It is like that on all board and all topics. The only thing that really sets T4R.org apart is it seems most people are willing to throw out some general info to start with and then if it gets bogged down they start suggesting that the OP does some searching. I think it makes the site more useful in the long run.
I'm all for searching and I wish people would do it more, but with today's world of instant gratification it is just the way it is. Just my .02.

This. Not everyone is familiar with how forums work. Think the topic comes up too much? Dont answer it, Some one else will.

Matter of fact I did search, but was using the wrong key words in the search.
Once folks started to give me some answers I could do a more thorough search and come to my own conclusion.
There really is no need to comment if you are sick of hearing a subject brought up, just skip in when you scan for new threads, that's what I do and have always done for as long as I have been using forums.
The other side of the coin is some folks don't have 2 hours to wade through some pretty in depth and good threads that have come to past here. Hell I seached for idler arm bushing earlier and then got into threads touting the brass vs plastic debate then went over where to get the brass ones which then went into how to do the rebuild, following don't forget seals....in the end I spent 3 hours reading all this and still didn't find my answer...16mm or 18mm from energy performance.
And lastly if we all stopped creating threads after something was answered..well that would be a library, not a forum.
