Replacing Driveshaft?

I have a 2001 4Runner 2WD and I need to replace the drive shaft. The u-joint is broken and has now messed up other things - drive shaft, and rear differential - and I need to figure out if I can put a drive shaft from a different year 4Runner into my 2001.

Not an expert , but I would think your gen would be 96 -02 , but you might have luck over n the 3rd gen sect .

I currently have two driveshafts available both for 2WD 3rd gen... PM if you're interested
