Have a boot tear similar to the first example, both sides have tears, optimistically thinking I'm doing both sides this week, here's an example I've found;

My impressions, I like that you don't have to remove the caliper; I've need to get the tie-rod separator tool and 35mm socket (if necessary I've got a 1/2 x 3/4 impact increasing adapter); and think getting the sir-clip(?) (the c ring that keeps the axle in), cannot be brute forced but using all the slack to build momentum quickly popped out of/into it's retainer. Guess I'll test that theory when I get there. Also have rubber hammer but wood block would also probably work.Of course any helpful tips welcome.
Thanks for reviving this, the contained links provided some extra helpful hints too. I was thinking of not changing the seal, but figured on sourcing locally if I do. I'm doing after market cv's but plan on saving the original for future rebooting.

I can only hope what arrives by Thursday is what I think it is, an aside I just got took on the $19.99 Bluedriver obd2 scan tool, normally about $100, but seems "an unauthorized third party may have accessed the seller’s account to list this item", eBay saved me, lesson learned, again, too good to be true...also going to replace caliper/rotor/pads but will share that in appropriate thread(s).
