Replacing head gasket - need parts help

So it looks like I have a bad head gasket, see venting-Bad head gasket, maybe, maybe not thread. Without swapping the injectors which isn't the simplest thing and I don't have a camera available I feel pretty confident this is the cause of my problems. I want to get everything ordered so downtime is minimal.

I'm planning on ordering the gasket kit from Camelback toyota, great prices and service.

I'm going to replace the water pump since I'm at 170k. Is the Asin pump a good one, assuming it is not a reman? Rockauto has it for $80 bucks.

I'm planning on the SK20HR11 plugs. and this head bolt tool.

The FSM indicates measuring the head bolts to see if they need to be replaced. What are your opinions on replacing them regardless? Are the FelPro good enough or do I need the Toyota brand? I'm also, replacing the crank bolt.

What else do I need?

Asin is the OEM manufacture of the Toyota water pump, so yes its a good pump. I have re used the head bolts every time unless the head is very badly warped and never had an issue

So this is the real question, why do you need a head gasket job already?

Did you run a Co2 test on this bad bay at the Radiator? If not I would do that and see if you have exhaust gases coming through the coolant first before tearing into this beast. If it fails then there you go, blown head gasket.

As far as Fel-Pro. This is all we use at our shop (Get the good kit and the cheap one) They have never given us any issues at all and we have done countless head-gasket jobs over the years. Head bolts- They are cheap just get new ones. From the amount of labor it takes to redo everything over a stupid head bolt if it fails you will be pretty pist off to tear it all apart again. When you have it apart do everything with it. New Water Pump, Gaskets (comes with Fel-Pro kit) new plugs (because if HG is blowen a good chance the plugs are crap now from all the coolant burning off in the Cyl.) wires Etc.

Now this is important and don't skip this step because it can really bite you in the ASS, send the heads out to be worked and make sure they are flat and valves are working! We had a customer tell us "Skip that it is not needed and I don't want to spend the extra 150.00 on that, its not needed" Guess how much that cost him to do a second head gasket job, our way and the right way!

Once the heads are worked and good, put it all back together with new parts and gaskets and seals and you should be MONEY!!!!

I'm telling you all this from silly stuff I have seen at out shop to save to the frustration if not done right.

We swapped coil and plug to another cylinder but misfire stayed on 6. Tested the radiator/coolant with one of the liquid testers but it didn't change to yellow. I haven't swapped the injector. I'm trying to find someone with a borescope, but have had no luck so far. I'd rather not tear this apart only being 90% sure this is the problem.

I didn't mention it, but I am planning to send both heads to a shop to be checked and replace valve seals.

My test kit says

"Engine should be warm, and allowed to idle during the test. Coolant MUST be warm and circulating while test is in process."

He's talking about a different kind of test. You're testing the liquid coolant for hydrocarbons. He's talking about testing for the gaseous byproducts of combustion coming from the radiator. Different techniques.

OK, my coolant reservoir tank was at the normal line last week when I checked it and today it's almost empty. I feel confident the gasket is the problem.

Is there anything else I need other than what I posted above that I need?

Also, which gasket kit do I need? I have read of people using each one.
0411231720 VALVE GRIND GASKET KIT
or
0411131343 - Overhaul gasket set

Is there any other antifreeze I can use, I really don't want to give the dealer in town a dime of my money.
